Thank God we are safe and so is Israel. Unfortunately some people are in difficult situations and others, like us in Jerusalem and most of the South of Israel, are in no danger.

This does not mean that the situation is good. It'll never be good as long as we have an enemy, like Hizbullah.

I think that Israel has been preparing for this war for a long time.

Thank God it didn't come earlier.

Whenever we fought wars in the past, like the war of Independence or the 6 days war I always felt grateful, and surprised that Iran wasn't our enemy.

But Iran was always the enemy. I don't think we ever thought otherwise. (see note below)

The amazing thing is that Iran is also the enemy of the Arab countries.

I don't know how things will develop but we must believe in the righteousness of our struggle and in the physical and moral strength of the Jewish People.

I think that it is a comforting thought that the Jewish People have never been defeated, despite appearances to the contrary.

I'm not saying that we haven't suffered losses. Our losses have been gigantic, but victory has a price and it is victory that we seek, because only through our victory will the world become a better place in which to live.

Victory is assured because our aim is very minimal. Our aim is just to survive as the People of God. It's not to dominate.

Just to survive, and it should be clear, by now, after 2000 years of struggle, that we are surviving and will continue to survive.

Survival to do good is the highest goal that one can aim for. Evil doesn't survive because it is evil and seeks only to dominate.

Goodness doesn't seek to dominate. It seeks to survive to carry on doing good.

Iran:

Iran is a multi-ethnic and multi-language (mostly Persian) country. About 3% of Iranians are ethnic Arabs and native speakers of Arabic, the vast majority- over 97% of the country do not speak Arabic and do not consider themselves ethnically or culturaly related to Arabs
