Adam’s sin and
sacrifices.
· I think the Jews also consider it necessary for every human being born after Adam to atone for his (Adam's) sin.
That's why we made sacrifices and later prayer and that is atonement enough and it's effective; our prayers are to ask
God not to destroy the world and He answers our prayers by not destroying it.
The destruction of the temple contributed to the rise of Christianity and Islam.
· The problem is that Christian and Moslems blame the Jews for not being obedient to God and therefore being the
cause of the destruction of the temple, which is the original means of atonement.
· According to Christianity and Islam the Jews provoked God into sending the Babylonians and the Romans to destroy
the temple therefore the Jews deserved to be relegated from their position of being His chosen people and must make way
for Christianity and Islam to be the new chosen ones of God.
Jews aren’t guilty
· We cannot accept this relegation or demotion into superfluity, yet by saying, as some prophets say, that
our sins provoked God to bring destruction on the temple we are saying the same as the Christians and Moslems.
· So we must desist from accepting that guilt in spite of what our prophets say.
Below you will find some examples of prophetic sayings about the sin
of Israel and are used by Christianity and Islam to justify their importance as the
new saviours of the world.
God always forgives.
· By the way a careful examination of verses in the Bible relating to the sin of Israel shows a massive preponderance for God's forgiveness for our sins over God's
punishment. Even these verses relating to the punishment of sin can be explained as not meaning that God will punish us for
our sins by destroying the temple and making the Jews suffer.
· The Christians and the Moslems particularly like these verses because it justifies their existence. They exist
to carry out the will of God.
· The destruction of the temple has got nothing to do with our disobedience to God. We must reject the idea of our
guilt in that matter.
Verses where the Bible seems to indicate that destruction of the temple is punishment for sins.
verses
· Ezra 9:7
From the days of our forefathers until
now, our guilt has been great. Because of our sins, we and our kings and our priests have been subjected to the sword
and captivity, to pillage and humiliation at the hand of foreign kings, as it is today.
· Ezra 9:13
What has happened to us is a result of our evil deeds and our great
guilt, and yet, our God, you have punished us less than our sins have deserved and have given us a remnant like this.
· Jeremiah 13:22
And
if you ask yourself, "Why has this happened to me?"— it is because of your many sins that your skirts have been torn
off and your body mistreated.
· Lamentations 3:39
Why should any living man complain when punished for his sins?
· Lamentations 4:13
But it happened because of the sins of her prophets and the iniquities
of her priests, who shed within her the blood of the righteous.
· Ezekiel 21:24
"Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'Because
you people have brought to mind your guilt by your open rebellion, revealing your sins in all that you do—because you
have done this, you will be taken captive
